Mentoring
“Through my career I have obtained valuable life experiences, learnt worthy lessons and met incredible people as I’ve worked tirelessly to achieve my dreams. Now as a role model, I want to share with others my personal stories of success and hardship in the hope that I can inspire and influence other peoples’ lives; as a mentor, I want to help people eliminate limiting beliefs and achieve their goals. That for me is the greatest achievement.”

DKH Legacy Trust
Franki is currently working with the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust in a range of activities. Set up by Dame Kelly herself, the Trust aims to "Inspire young people and unlock life chances for them by improving their skills, knowledge and self belief through support and mentoring projects with sporting champions".
As one of the sporting champions at DKH Legacy Trust, Franki uses her experience and skills to help young performers to participate, stay in and excel in sport, and help disadvantaged young people to find and believe in their own talents.
Here are some of the projects that Franki is actively involved in:
- Aspiring Minds
Delivered in association with By-Design and in partnership with the Transformation Trust, 'Aspiring Minds' is a schools programme designed to develop the skills and attitudes required for success in the modern world.
- National Citizen Service (Starting this summer)
Delivered with v, this flagship programme is run under the government's Big Society scheme. The project will prepare young people for adult life through a personal development programme.
- Making Headway
Delivered in partnership with Skill Force, 'Making Headway' aims to develop the personal learning skills of young people aged between 14-16, which will ultimately enhance their employment skills.
- Future Jobs Fund
This was part of Labour's Backing Young Britain commitment to support jobless young people. The DKH Legacy Trust, along with it's employment partner Premier Sport, provided new jobs for young people currently on Job Seekers Allowance in the sport sector, and with the help of the Trust's elite athletes, provided support during the pre-engagement training of these young adults and mentoring whilst in their new role. Franki's role was to provide motivation and support to these newly recruited young people at Premier Sport and prevent them from dropping out when it got tough.
- Backing Talent
This programme utilises sports performers as role models and mentors, passing on the benefits of their careers to the next generation. Through the support of DKH Legacy Trust we give aspiring young sports performers the skills they need to achieve their potential. They do this through a practical education and mentoring programme.

Testimonials
Frankie worked with us with a group of challenging students. Despite her inexperience in this area at the time, she really made an impact on those young people and worked extremely hard to forge purposeful relationships with them. She was a great role model for them and their results on the Making Headway programme bear this out. She is a fantastic young lady with a great deal to offer young people.

On behalf of Skill Force can I offer our best wishes to Franki as she sets off towards 2012. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with her and she has really worked hard on Making Headway both in terms of her role as an athlete co-ordinator and as a trainee instructor. She's had some tough moments but has dug in and got on with the job. I personally will miss her and I know the guys she has worked with think she is a star. I sincerely hope that all goes well for her.
